Middle East firm Istithmar Hotels FZE continues its South East Asian buying spree with the announcement it will partner with Thai developer Amburaya Resorts to build and operate the W Hotel & Residences – Koh Samui, a 70-room luxury hotel opening in late 2008.

The listed developer Property Perfect Plc (PF) is adopting a housing customisation strategy to boost sales and hopes to earn two billion baht from the new strategy, according to managing director Chainid Ngow-sirimanee. Engel & Volkers grows in Hua Hin

After entering Thailand just over a year ago, the German luxury real-estate brokerage Engel & Volkers is ready to expand with the opening of a new office in Hua Hin. The company opened its first office in Phuket in late 2005. Martin Phillips, the holder of a master franchise licence for Southeast Asia and Australia, said more licences would be awarded to selected partners for offices in Bangkok by the third quarter of this year. Phuket property market 'is recovering well'
